Hello we are your school council.  It’s our job to be the voice of the children at Holtsmere!  This term we have started working with Mrs Hawker and Mrs McGuigan to improve our learning environment around the school.

Together we are going to raise money for Children in Need by getting everyone to dress up in spots.  We will also be organising the annual amazing Holtsmere's Got Talent end of term show.

Remember you can talk to any of our members if you have any problems or suggestions.

Thank you for all your support this term!

The School Council are:

Year 3 Year 4 Year 5
Year 6

Eco Committee:  The Eco Committee will ensure the school community think in an environmentally friendly way.  They are working towards the eco gold award which focuses on getting the eco-schools structure in place to support the school's eco work.  Eco-Schools is an internationally recognised awards programme.

Year 6 PALS

As a school we are always looking for ways to develop the children's leadership skills and we have successfully chosen children from year 6 to be PALS.  These children are Physical Activity Leaders and will be supporting the Infant School promoting positive lunchtimes through physical activities.

DIGITAL LEADERS

Konstan Yr 6

I wanted to be a digital leader because I thought it would be useful for my future not just for secondary school but for the community, also I like fixing other peoples problems which is my pleasure because I am taught to do that.  We do all sorts of things, for example, an assembly.  We do modules to learn even more about online safety and how to keep you safe online.

Tony Yr 6

I wanted to become a digital    leader because I want to help stop all mean things happening in our community.  I benefit from this because it means I can help my parents with online safety.  We do modules to help us understand about online safety.  I help my parents with online safety if they need it.

Emily Yr 5

I applied to be a digital leader because I believe I have the qualities to help people and give them advice about their online problems.  It feels amazing to be a role model.  During Digital Leaders, we are completing modules, which teach us all about different aspects online, we are also going to run an assembly in front of the school, and teach classes about staying safe online.  Another Digital Leader and I taught our class about Internet Safety whilst playing a game.  Our class really enjoyed it.  I'm so glad I was chosen to represent our school.

Archie Yr 5

I wanted to be a digital leader so I could learn how to help people on line and to find out more information on how to be safe online.  We do all sorts of things like modules which teach us about being safe online.   We learn how to stop cyber bullying from happening.  We all go to a lesson on Monday lunch time.  I'm happy that I got to represent the whole school, we all work hard to help the school.

Zofia Yr 5

I wanted to be a digital leader because I wanted to help people stay safe online and by doing the training it has given me the confidence to stand out and help people.  So far we have learnt about cyber bullying and how to stay safe online.  I am looking forward to learning more in the future.

Hannah Yr 5

I wanted to be a digital leader because I wanted to learn more about going online and helping other people online.  So far I have learnt about cyber bullying and what it means, we did a test called 'keep it safe or give it away'.  I learnt more doing that test.
