Holtsmere End Junior School works together in partnership with parents and pupils to create a positive teaching and learning environment where children flourish.

Our school caters for pupils aged 7 to 11.  We have two classes in each year group and 166 pupils on our roll.  Our school shares a large site with Holtsmere End Infant and Nursery Schools, and joint working between the schools is a key philosophy.
In February 2012 the Governors recruited a new senior management team.  Deputy Head of Holtsmere End Junior School Emma McGuigan was appointed Acting Head and new Assistant Heads were appointed.

In March 2013 Holtsmere End Junior School was given a good judgement from Ofsted. Ofsted report.   We are very proud of what our excellent team of teaching and support staff has achieved under the leadership of our new Senior Management team.

Her Majesty’s Inspector Philip Mann who led the March 2013 Ofsted inspection said:

‘Much of the teaching is good and sometimes outstanding.  All teachers create a positive climate for good achievement in their classrooms where vibrant displays and warm relationships promote good learning.’
The foundation for everything we do is a firm insistence on good standards of behaviour, on treating each other with tolerance, respect and consideration.

Philip Mann said ‘Behaviour is good in class.  Relationships are positive between pupils and adults and pupils themselves.  Pupils are keen to be in school and attendance is above average.’ Ofsted 2013
We also strive to ensure that every child does as well as they can.  All children are challenged but we provide support for those who need it, and encouragement for all.  Our year 6 SATS have improved year on year since 2009.  In 2012 our results were significantly ahead of the National Average level.

Holtsmere End Junior School offers a wide variety of sporting and cultural activities.  Every child is encouraged to join in, to enjoy what they do, to learn how to do it better, and to become responsible, caring members of the community.

School's aims and values: A centre of educational excellence, where children learn with enthusiasm and enjoyment, are challenged to achieve their full potential and where they enjoy an exciting and creative curriculum in a safe, secure and caring environment.

A whole school community, rooted in our shared aims and high expectations, working collaboratively to support pupils' intellectual, social, emotional, spiritual, moral and cultural development to become responsible members of the community and life long learners.
